Presentation: Food Fight and Body Wars: Food Addiction, Binge Eating, and Obesity in Health Care
This presentation highlights the conflicting care models for those who struggle with loss of control eating and weight disorders and the integrative care solutions necessary to help them.
Three industries intersect with conflicting treatment models, and those suffering from loss of control eating and weight disorders are not getting the integrative care required to solve their complex problems. Obesity medicine, the eating disorder treatment industry and substance use treatment approaches may be creating the problems they are trying to treat and ignoring others that need attention. This presentation will shed some light on this vulnerable population and suggest a collaborative and integrative approach.
Dr. Kari Anderson has positioned herself as a respected clinician and leader in the field of eating disorders. Her career spans over three decades of leading treatment teams at all levels of care. Kari has developed several treatment models, most recently for treating binge eating.
