Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies to Fundraise for Student Emergency Fund on Arizona Gives Day

Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) is excited to participate in Arizona Gives Day, April 6, 2021. During their past three years of participation in Arizona Gives Day, CGI was proud to raise enough funds to support four DBH student scholarships. In 2021, Cummings Graduate Institute is taking a new approach with AZ Gives Day. 2020 demonstrated to us all that life can change in an instant and with it, norms and stability can disappear. CGI aims to strengthen their ability to support students who experience temporary hardships and are unable to meet immediate and essential expenses by raising funds for their Student Emergency Fund. 100% of funds raised during AZ Gives Day will go directly to the Student Emergency Fund.
Arizona Gives Day is a grassroots, statewide day of giving that invites Arizonans to support their favorite causes. Participants can visit azgives.org and donate the day-of (April 6), or schedule gifts in advance as early as March 16, 2021. Arizona Gives Day helps raise awareness about Arizona nonprofits and the critical role they play in our communities and state. This statewide day of giving has raised more than $23 million for nonprofits since 2013. On April 6, the event will inspire people to “invest in Arizona” by giving to nonprofits making our state stronger and creating a thriving community for all.
When asked about why CGI participates in Arizona Gives Day, Melissa McGurgan, Director of Marketing replied, “As COVID-19 continues to place extreme stress and burden on our healthcare workers, CGI is focused on strengthening our student emergency fund. Doing so will allow us to better serve our students who experience financial hardship or crisis as a result of the pandemic. With all of our students working in healthcare as front line workers, providers, and key administrators, bolstering our ability to serve more students with greater resources is our priority. Arizona Gives Day helps us work towards our goal of bolstering our student emergency fund, which will in turn help our students navigate unexpected challenges while continuing to pursue their doctoral studies at CGI.”
