Update: As of December 31, 2022 CGI is no longer able to accept or authorize to certify VA Benefits. This change is because of a new law implemented on August 1, 2021 that requires schools to be participate in Title IV. CGI is not eligible to accept Title IV funding at this time.
Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies Certificate Programs Now VA Education Benefits Eligible
The nonprofit, private, post-secondary institution’s graduate certificate programs integrated behavioral health and trauma informed care are now approved to accept VA Education Benefits for eligible veterans and beneficiaries.

Six doctoral-level certificate programs offered by Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) are now approved for VA Education Benefits. VA Education Benefits help Veterans, service members, and their qualified family members with educational needs and tuition support. The approval process for VA Education Benefits, including the GI Bill® program, begins with the State Approving Agency (SAA) of jurisdiction. For Cummings Graduate Institute, the SAA for the State of Arizona approved the following non-degree certificate programs enabling eligibility for payment of VA education benefits.
- Trauma Informed Care (TIC) certificate
- Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH), Adult specialty certificate
- Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH), Gerontology specialty certificate
- Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH), Leadership specialty certificate
- Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH), Military Families and Veterans specialty certificate
- Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH), Women’s Health specialty certificate

Effective January 17, 2024, the Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH) and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) certificate programs are offered as stackable credentials exclusively to students currently enrolled in the Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) degree program at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies.
