Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies to Fundraise Student Scholarships on Arizona Gives Day
Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) is excited to participate in Arizona Gives Day, April 2, 2019. During their first year of participation in Arizona Gives Day in 2018, CGI was proud to raise enough funds to support one student scholarship. In 2019, CGI has set an ambitious goal of raising funds for five student scholarships in the Doctor of Behavioral Health degree program. One hundred percent of all funds contributed will go directly to student scholarships.
Arizona Gives Day is a grassroots, statewide day of giving that invites Arizonans to support their favorite causes. Participants can visit azgives.org and donate the day-of (April 2), or schedule gifts in advance beginning March 1. Arizona Gives Day helps raise awareness about Arizona nonprofits and the critical role they play in our communities and state. This statewide day of giving has raised more than $13.4 million since 2013 and hopes to exceed its 2018 grand total of $3.2 million with increased support from local residents. On April 2, the event will inspire people to “invest in Arizona” by giving to nonprofits making our state stronger and creating a thriving community for all.
When asked about why CGI registered to participate in Arizona Gives Day, Melissa McGurgan, Director of Marketing and Partnerships replied, “We are committing to build an institutional scholarship fund to reduce financial barriers for our students pursuing a Doctor of Behavioral Health degree at CGI. Increasing financial support to our current and future students is an important strategic initiative of our institution. Donating to CGI is a direct investment in our extraordinary students, who give back to their communities, conduct innovative, applied research in integrated behavioral healthcare, and are passionate about changing the way the world experiences healthcare. Their work makes a long-term difference in the lives of their patients and communities. With great anticipation, we look forward to being able to reduce the financial burden for five of our students as they pursue a doctoral degree through our Arizona Gives Day fundraising initiative.”
Arizona Gives Day is April 2. To make a donation in support of student scholarships, the public is urged to visit the CGI donation page on Arizona Gives’ website.
