PHOENIX – Nov. 8, 2017 – PRLog — Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) announces a two year partnership with University of the West of Scotland’s School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery. Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies, a private nonprofit institution, offers graduate and professional education in integrated behavioral health care through a virtual online campus.
As one of three universities worldwide granting the distinguished Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) degree, and the only university that exclusively focuses on the growing field of integrated healthcare, CGI has sought international support and alliance from education leaders and innovators within the integrated care arena to advance the science, knowledge and adoption of integrated care policy and practice. It is with much enthusiasm that Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) announces a knowledge partnership with the renowned change agent, University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
The UWS School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery offers a wide range of innovative and exciting undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development courses in the fields of integrated health and social care. The Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Integrated Health and Social Care offered by UWS is an innovative and hands-on degree program designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career within health and social care in the public, private or voluntary sector. Additionally, the School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery has now launched a Master’s in Leading People-centered Integrated Care.
Elaine Gifford and Helen Rainey, Lecturers in the School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery, UWS, and Melissa McGurgan, Director of Student Services and Development, and Wendy Boring-Bray, Assistant Director of the DBH Program, CGI met in May 2017 at the International Conference for Integrated Care in Dublin, Ireland and mutually expressed interest in learning more about the educational programs and training provided by each organization. After several transatlantic conversations it was evident that both organizations shared a collective vision and passion for the impact and adoption of integrated care worldwide, and the knowledge partnership was born.

Representatives from the School of Health, Nursing & Midwifery (UWS) will travel to the US to present at the upcoming integrated care conference hosted by CGI, The 5 C’s of Integrated Healthcare: Care, Collaboration, Cost, Community, & Culture, taking place March 8-10, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ. The conference will explore 5 topics in the field of integrated care: Care, Collaboration, Cost, Community, & Culture. Presentations, workshops, and panel discussions on each of these topics will be offered throughout the conference by professionals currently making an impact in the integrated care and behavioral health arenas.
