Commitment to Accessibility
Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive online experience and continually work to improve the accessibility and usability of our website, resources, and digital services.
Accessibility Standards
CGI aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, which define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
While we strive to achieve and maintain accessibility across all areas of our website, some content may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. As a result, CGI is considered partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Measures to Support Accessibility
To support our accessibility efforts, CGI has implemented the following measures:
- Partnered with AudioEye, a trusted provider of digital accessibility technology and expertise, to help identify and remediate accessibility barriers.
- Utilize automated accessibility monitoring and testing tools to identify and address issues on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct manual accessibility reviews and remediation efforts as part of our website maintenance process.
- Provide an accessibility toolbar that allows users to customize their browsing experience, including visual and navigation preferences.
- Review newly published content and website updates with accessibility considerations in mind.
- Work with third-party vendors to encourage accessibility improvements within externally provided tools and services.
Third-Party Content and Services
Some areas of the CGI website rely on third-party applications, plugins, and embedded services that are outside of our direct control. While we make every effort to select accessible technologies and advocate for accessibility improvements, certain third-party components may not fully conform to accessibility standards.
AI Chat Service Accessibility Limitations
Our website includes an AI-powered chat service provided by a third-party vendor. We are aware of accessibility limitations affecting certain aspects of the chat interface, including how interactive elements are identified to assistive technologies and how keyboard focus is managed when chat dialogs open and close.
Specific improvements have been requested from the vendor, including enhancements related to button roles, dialog announcements, keyboard focus management, focus trapping within modal dialogs, and returning focus to the initiating control when a dialog is closed.
Because this functionality is provided and controlled by a third-party platform, CGI is currently unable to directly implement these changes. We are actively working with the vendor to encourage accessibility improvements and will update this statement as enhancements become available.
