About Dr. Jennifer Wims-Madden
Dr. Jennifer Wims-Madden is a board-certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2013. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in 2012, following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan–Flint and an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Oakland Community College.
With nearly two decades of experience in mental health care, Dr. Wims-Madden has treated individuals across the lifespan in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her clinical work is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a special focus on treating trauma and PTSD. She is deeply committed to providing holistic, personalized, and comprehensive care that honors each patient’s unique story and healing journey.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Wims-Madden is passionate about shaping the future of mental health care through education. She has served as a mental health nursing faculty member at Oakland Community College, where she guided hundreds of students through enriching clinical placements and classroom instruction. She continues to serve as a preceptor for psychiatric nurse practitioner students and medical residents, fostering growth and excellence in the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
Through the Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) program at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies, Dr. Wims-Madden has expanded her impact as a leader, innovator, and educator in integrated care.
