About Dr. Kristin McQueeney
Dr. Kristin McQueeney was born and raised in Erie County, Pennsylvania, where her early experiences, including participating in cheerleading, the school newspaper, and Future Homemakers of America, laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to community engagement. In 1990, she proudly represented her state as both the Pennsylvania State Grape Princess and Miss Congeniality, supported by her family and local community.
After earning an Associate Degree in Business, Dr. McQueeney began her journey balancing family life and education. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Penn State University, followed by a Master’s in School Counseling from Capella University. Her work with adolescents and young adults fueled her passion for developmental psychology and school-based support services.
By 2016, Dr. McQueeney had earned a second Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and became a licensed professional counselor. Her person-centered approach deepened her ability to form meaningful, therapeutic relationships across the lifespan. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to the classroom once again—this time enrolling in the Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) program at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI).
While at CGI, she co-hosted a youth-driven podcast, Mental Matters, which debuted publicly on Spotify in June 2024. The podcast gave young people a platform to speak about mental health and encouraged open dialogue around challenging topics.
Looking ahead, Dr. McQueeney is expanding her impact through The Eclipse Project, an initiative designed to improve continuity of care as young people transition from pediatric to adult mental health services. As she steps forward in her new role as Dr. McQueeney, she remains dedicated to a servant leadership model and hopes her work will extend beyond her local community to create change across Pennsylvania and beyond.
