New Podcast Episode Explores the Emotional, Spiritual, and Clinical Dimensions of Grief
In the latest episode of Disruptors at Work: An Integrated Care Podcast, special host Rica Walker, LMHC and Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) student at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI), is joined by Sam Williams, MDiv, BCC, CCTS-I, and DBH student at CGI, for a conversation about grief, mourning, and the many ways loss can affect emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Drawing from their experience in mental health counseling, hospice care, chaplaincy, trauma support, and behavioral health, they explore the difference between grief and mourning, why each person’s experience of loss is unique, and how clinicians, families, and communities can better support those who are grieving. The conversation also offers practical strategies for helping people move through loss without rushing the process, while recognizing the importance of whole-person care, connection, and taking the next step forward.
