Cummings Graduate Institute Approved as a QBA Coursework Provider

The nonprofit, private, post-secondary institution specializing in integrated behavioral health education has been awarded approval from the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA®).

Phoenix, AZ, Sept. 9, 2020

Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) is now approved to be a QBA Coursework Provider by the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA®). The Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA®) is an internationally-accredited credentialing agency dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of care among professionals providing applied behavioral analysis (ABA) services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.

CGI sought out QABA accreditation to assure students participating in a newly designed course, Integrated Care and Autism, that the curriculum follows the high-quality industry standards set by the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA). The course, Integrated Care and Autism – DBH 9029, will provide an overview of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and the physical and mental health conditions that are commonly associated with it. Emphasis is placed on how biopsychosocial context can impact an individual’s access to diagnosis and treatment of ASD, in addition to how integrated care can be tailored to promote more effective, timely, person-centered care to people on the spectrum. The course, anticipated to launch in Fall 2020, was developed collaboratively between Cummings Graduate Institute and subject matter expert and CGI alumni, Dr. Liliane de Aguiar-Rocha, DBH, BCBA, QBA for the Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) program. Integrated Care and Autism will also be available in the future as part of a forthcoming certificate program in integrated care for ASD populations.

Being able to offer a QBA approved course in both the DBH and future certificate programs, will ensure that CGI trained providers are capable of addressing the gaps in service and improving care for people on the spectrum and their families within their practice.
